The goal of this Spring 2009 semester project was to demonstrate a broad range of considerations that should go into designing and producing a garment that is defined as “ethical” including choice of materials that benefit the environment, choice of suppliers with verifiable fair labor practices, and responsible interactions and exchanges between the buyers/designers and suppliers. Working in collaboration with the FLA, Gildan, IPC and faculty, University of Delaware students enrolled in FASH 433 Product Development and Management Studio developed ethical fashions, design development through final fashion garment.
